Additionally, she studied in workshop settings with cast members and writers of Saturday Night Live, Mad TV, The Groundlings, 30 Rock, The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, Upright Citizens Brigade, and more. Heather is also a certified teacher of English and theatre who works at Wilton High School and also directs Freeplay, A Night of Improv Comedy. She continues to perform in professional and community theater throughout the area.

Live Wire Improv, a Chicago-style Improv Extravaganza with Heather DeLude

Are you a fan of Saturday Night Live, The Office, Community, Parks and Recreation,  30 Rock, or Whose Line is it Anyway? Yes, and! The majority of the actors in these series are seasoned improvisers and credit improvisation as both the foundation and launching pad of their comedic success. In fact, current late-night talk show hosts Stephen Colbert’s and Seth Meyers’ roots are not in stand-up, but in Chicago-style improv. Come learn both basic and advanced tenets of improvisation from a Second City trained actress in a fun, supportive, ensemble-driven atmosphere. This approach will include various techniques gathered from multiple schools of improvisation and focus on cultivating the ability to make bold and authentic choices. Participants can expect to learn both short and long-form improvisation through the fundamentals of scene work and traditional games encouraging focused and intelligent play. No experience necessary. Limited space is available
